AVG Free EditionI have had several emails concerning free AVG antivirus. The problem seems to be getting the download installed correctly, some have been told that AVG is no longer free. I am using AVG on my Vista machine and it is working fine. However I do see where support will no longer be offered for the free version. If anyone has some confirmed information that they would be willing to share, please let us know so we can pass it a long to those that are having trouble. In the meantime here is where you can download the latest free version of AVG. http://free.grisoft.com/ww.homepage
Connecting to the Internet
We have discussed this subject in the past, but like everything else in regards to computers, things change often when new technology is introduced. You can view an article that I recently wrote by going here, www.rverscomputerhelp.com/newinternet.html
Making your own Web Site
You do not have to know exactly how to make a web site in order to get started. You can use a free web site template to help you get the hang of things. Here is one of many web sites that offer free templates, be careful, because not all of them are free. Also when downloading from any web site that offers free templates, watch to make sure you are not agreeing to getting ads that you might not want. These templates are usually offered in the hopes that you might decide to purchase something from their web site. However, you can get some free templates to try out. www.templatesbox.com/templates.htm
Making Windows Media Player your Default player.I have received a few emails from some of you that want to know how to get the Media player back as your default player. The reason that it was lost in the first place, is usually because another player was downloaded to your computer, sometimes with your permission and sometimes it was attached to another program that you might have been downloading. The Real Player is sometimes guilty of making it's self your default player without asking. Here is a Microsoft web site that explains how to bring the Media Player back as the default player. support.microsoft.com/kb/271949

WorldWide Telescope
Microsoft Technologies brings us this program to search our galaxies. This is a free download and here is what they have to say about it. "Want to see the same images that scientists at NASA use for their research or perform your own research with those images? Or do you want to see the Earth from the same perspective that astronauts see as they descend to Earth? How about taking a 5 minute break and viewing a panorama of a different city? Install WWT and start your explorations." www.worldwidetelescope.org I downloaded this and it is very interesting if you like exploring the Universe. I would not advise downloading this if you have a dialup connection.
