Windows Vista Help and TutorialsThere is a lot of help available for Windows Vista users. I have listed a couple web pages that offer tutorials. These pages have so much information, that it would take hours to absorb it all. Follow this link, www.rverscomputerhelp.com/vistahelp.html
Office Online File Converters and ViewersMany of you are probably familiar with Microsoft Office, or have least heard of it. I am sure that you have probably received emails with attachments that were created by Office. If you don't have Office installed on your computer, you will not be able to open and view these attachments. There is another way, follow this link to our web site to find out more, www.rverscomputerhelp.com/officeviewers.html
Question from subscriber RudyHere is a good question from Rudy."Actually I have a GPS question. I was wondering if they make a GPS which is Big Truck or RV friendly? What I mean with this is that I feel the GPS's are really meant for directing cars. That the GPS could direct me onto a road that is impassible because of low overpasses or real narrow roads with tree branches all over the place that could damage my coach. Also the fact that I am towing a car then makes it very difficult to turn around and you can't back up. My other issue is that I think on major highways where they advertise fuel stops, they should put a little sticker on their signs to indicate that their pumps are RV accessible. I know there are truck stops along the way which I normally try to stop at. But what if you are in an area where there aren't any truck stops and unfortunately you need fuel and when you get off the highway you can't get into or get out of most gas stations because the way the position their pumps. I think that would be a big plus for us RV's, what do you think? Rudy, a long time reader of your journal and loving it". If anyone has any suggestions for Rudy, please email them to, questions@rvinginfo.com I will make a web page to post the answers so everyone can see them. Thanks, Larry
What's the Future for Dialup Internet??I am certainly not an expert on this subject, but I spent some time searching Google for an answer. I don't have the space here in the newsletter to print all that I found. The future for dialup does not look good, although there might be a couple Internet Service providers that might be able to hang on. If you are still using dialup, you might want to search Google for yourself. There are phone companies that are now offering DSL for near the same price as dialup.
Google search tips (Update)Subscriber Pat sends in another helpful search tip. Type allintitle:search word(s) when searching for something and it will narrow the search even more. I tried it with my grass hopper example from 7-25-08 and it reduced the search from 31,000 to 723.Thanks Pat

Blocked Attachments in Outlook Express and Windows MailThere is a setting under Tools/Options/Security that will block some attachments when checked. It reads,(Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus)The problem comes in when you uncheck this item so you can view the attachment, then forget to put the check mark back. For a quick and easy workaround to open an attachment while leaving the block enabled, click Message/Forward (or press Ctrl-F). That will open a new Forward window in which you can access the attachment. When you are finished, close the Forward window and click No when prompted to save. Keep in mind that there is a check mark there to protect you from viruses that might be in the attachments, so be sure you know who the attachment is from before you open it.
Have you got computer Questions??We certainly do not know all the answers, but we might be able to locate a answer for you. If you have any questions, email us at questions@rvinginfo.com
