Change your mouse cursor(Windows XP)

Are you tired of the same old hour glass spinning around while you wait for some thing to load. Well you can change that very easily, just follow these instructions. Go to Start, Control Panel, Appearance and Themes, now click Mouse Pointers in the left column. Click the Pointers Tab, drop the menu down under Scheme and select anything that you want from the list. When you select something you can see the preview in the Customize window. Keep clicking different ones until you find the one you would like to try, then click Apply and OK. You can also get free cursors by doing a Google search, but be aware that most of these will come with adware.

Saving folders from Outlook Express

There are several ways of saving folders from Outlook Express, this is just a very basic way to do it. Go to Start, then Search, then All files and folders, type in DBX. This will bring up the folders that are in Outlook Express. I like to have a folder already in place in My Documents that I can send these folders to. Highlight the folders that the search revealed that you would like to save a copy of, go up to Edit and click Copy and send them to where you would like to save them. Now you can transfer them to a CD or flash drive or another hard drive for safe keeping.

Turn your car into a WiFi Hotspot

This new device will be introduced at CES International 2007 in Las Vegas on January 8, 2007. It is reported that it will sell for around $399 and $49.99 a month for the service. Autonet Mobile is the company behind it. You can get more information here. Looks to me like it would work in an RV also.www.goautonet.com/wp/

Computer term (Public Domain)

Software written as a good deed by some kind-hearted programmer, and then donated to the public. Anyone can use and copy public domain software free of charge, but it is not always as well-written or tested as commercial software.

Turn on Windows XP ClearType

Windows XP has Cleartype technology built into it, but it must be turned on. ClearType improves display resolution on LCD monitors, such as those on laptops. If you are using a LCD monitor on your desktop, it will help there also. To turn it on, Right click on your Desktop and choose Properties, click the Appearance Tab and click on Effects. Drop the menu down below "Use the following method to smooth edges of screen fonts" and choose Cleartype. Now click OK, Apply and OK. The fonts on your desktop should take on a different appearance.

Microsoft Calculator Plus

Windows XP and older versions of Windows all came with a simple calculator. Many word application software have calculators included, but did you know that Microsoft has a very good calculator and it is free. You can go here to down load it. It has many features that the simple calculator does not offer. Calculator Plus
