    Excite.com

The excite search engine has been around for a long time. Recently someone with an excite email address subscribed to the newsletter, reminding me that I have had an excite email address of my own for about 8 years or more. This is a good free email box with real nice features, such as a block senders list etc. You can also customize a home page with things that you would like to have on a home page. You can check it out at www.excite.com You can click on email in the upper right portion of the web page and sign up for a free account.

    Spell Checker

If you use Outlook Express as your email box and have Microsoft Word, Works or Office also on your computer, then you have a spell checker in Outlook Express. If you do not have Microsoft Word, Works or Office, you will not have a spell checker in Outlook Express, this spell.exe download will give you a spell checker. This spell checker will work if you have Outlook Express 6.0 or newer and will work on some later versions of Outlook Express 5.0. If you already have a spell checker in Outlook Express or are not sure, do not use this download. www.geocities.com/vampirefo

Have you ever accidentally hit the Cap Lock key and didn't realize it until you had typed for a while. Well there is a way to make the Cap Lock beep when it is hit. Here's how: Click the Start button, Settings, Control Panel (XP Users, hit the Start button, Control Panel). Open the Accessibility Options Icon. On the Keyboard tab, click the "Use Toggle Keys" checkbox. Now click Apply, next time you hit the Cap Lock button you should hear a beep.

    Computer term (POP3)

POP3 (post office protocol, version 3) is a protocol for getting e-mail off of a web server. If you use Outlook Express or Netscape Messenger you're using POP3. Some web-based e-mail accounts use this protocol as well.
