Deleting browsing history in Internet Explorer 7

You may want to delete your browsing history on a regular basis. To do this follow these steps,

  • Select Delete Browsing History.
You will be able to perform other functions as you will see on the window that opens.

    Reusable Grocery Bags

This was sent in by one of our subscribers. It has nothing to do with computers, but does have something to do with the environment. It pertains to using plastic grocery bags and an alternative. Grocery Bags

Bypass the Recycle Bin (Windows Vista)

When deleting a file that you know you will never need again, you can bypass the recycle bin and delete the file permanently. Right click on the file you want to delete, hold down the Shift Key on your keyboard while clicking delete.

Change start menu to use small icons in Windows Vista

You can make more room on your Start Menu by making the icons smaller. By default Windows makes these icons large. Here is how to change them,
  • Right click on the Start Button and select Properties
  • Make sure you are on the Start Menu tab
  • Click on Customize
  • Scroll to the bottom and remove the check mark next to Use large icons
  • Click OK

Use Ctrl + Enter to complete url

In Internet Explorer 6 & 7, you can save a couple steps when typing in a web site address into the address bar. Example if you are going to www.rverscomputerhelp.com, you can just type in rverscomputerhelp, then hold down the Ctrl key and press Enter. Internet Explorer will add the www. and the .com. Now this will not work if that feature has been turned off, I bet some of you will find it is off and didn't know it.

    Paint.net

If you have been looking for a good photo editor, Paint.net is the answer. It is free, very powerful, it does a lot that the pay for editors do, but is free. Adobe Photoshop is a very expensive program, I have it and use it often when building web sites. However lately I have been using the free Paint.net program, because I feel it responds quicker and in many cases is easier to use. Also the more expensive editors have features that I will never use. Paint.net was created to be a replacement for the Paint program that comes with Microsoft Windows, but was never used. You can get it here, www.getpaint.net/index.html
