Oddcast Text to Speech

Here is a fun web site that allows you to type in text then converts it to speech. You can choose from several different male and female voices and several different languages. Give it a try, it is fun. Oddcast

Maxthon Browser

I have tried this free browser and was very impressed. It has some of what Firefox and Internet Explorer have and some things they don't. It seems to run smooth and so far I have not found any problems. The makers of Maxthon also offer for free what some others charge for. I am talking about being able to access your home computer while you are away from home. Take a look and see if it is something you might like to try. www.maxthon.com

Create a Desktop Shortcut

Do you have a file or folder that you go to often? Well why not create a shortcut to it, here is how. Right click on the file or folder and hold your mouse pointer over the Send To option and a menu will pop out to the side. Now click on desktop and a shortcut will appear on your desktop. Now when you want to visit that file or folder just click on the shortcut.

Lets review a Wireless Network

Most homes these days have more than one computer and they like to have them all connected to the Internet. That's where the wireless network comes in, no more running wires from room to room. All that is required is a wireless router on one of the computers and wireless cards on the others. If you have Windows XP or Vista, the networks are very easy to setup even for a first time user. The routers come with easy to understand directions and the setup wizard that Windows provides make it very easy to do. Any of the top chain stores such as Best Buy, CompUSA, etc. will be able to tell you exactly what you need and if you watch for sales, you can get a router for very little expense. Of course it would be best if you have a cable or DSL connection at home. Don't be afraid to go for it, if you do run into trouble just contact us and we will try and help.

Computer term (Emulator)

An emulator is a program that allows one computer platform to mimic another for the purposes of running its software. Typically (but not always) running a program through an emulator will not be quite as pleasant an experience as running it on the real system.
