How to configure file sharing in Windows XP

Uninstalling Windows XP update packages
Although it is not a good idea to uninstall Windows updates because many of them address security issues, every once in a while you might experience difficulties right after an update is installed. In this case you might want to uninstall the most recent update to see if it is causing the problem. If you find out it is, you should contact Microsoft support for help. Turning off Tabbed Browsing
Internet Explorer 7 has a feature called tabbed browsing. Although I think it is a very good feature, sometimes it can be annoying and I would like to shut it off. If you like to do the same, here is how.

Open Internet Explorer by clicking the Start button , and then clicking Internet Explorer.

Click the Tools button, and then click Internet Options.

Click the General tab, and then, in the Tabs section, click Settings.

Clear the Enable Tabbed Browsing check box.

Click OK twice.

Close Internet Explorer and then open it again.

Windows XP restarts when you try to shut down your computer
If you are having this problem, Microsoft may have a fix for it. It has to do with Roxio software, you can read about it here, Microsoft Help

Computer term (Corrupt File)
A file so damaged that your computer can no longer read it. Many things can corrupt a file: your computer might crash or get infected with a virus. Once a file is corrupted, you can only restore it from a backup.
