Adding a signature file to Outlook Express

A signature file can be a poem, a quote, a scripture verse or anything that you want to appear in your outgoing messages. You can have it appear in all outgoing messages or just the ones you select. I have written a tutorial on how to do this, you can view it here, www.rvinginfo.com/tips.html

Start Outlook Express in your Inbox

Select Tools, Then Options from the menu in Outlook Express. Go to the General tab. Put a check mark in, "When starting, go directly to my Inbox folder", click Apply and OK. The next time you launch Outlook Express, it will open your Inbox automatically.

OE removed access to the following unsafe attachments in your mail

Have you ever gotten this message in an email? There are times, you may want to view an attachment that Outlook Express has deemed as unsafe. In these cases, follow these instructions to allow Outlook Express to show the attachment.
  • Start Outlook Express.
  • On the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Security tab, click to clear the "Do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus".
  • Click Apply and OK
To better protect yourself from viruses, its a good idea to leave this option checked unless you definitely want to open the attachment.

    Add or Remove Programs

I read this question the other day and thought I should mention it to everyone. QUESTION: In my add or remove programs, I see lots of Security Updates that I know must be taking a lot of my computer memory, can I delete these?

The answer is NO!, if you delete these updates that have been installed by Microsoft, you are opening your computer to possible attacks. These are updates that Microsoft issues to plug security holes that are found in their system, they are best left alone.

A quick way to add a web site to your favorites.

A fast way to add a web page to your favorites, or bookmarks (depending on what browser you use) is to hold down the CTRL key and press the D key once. A window should popup prompting you to add the web site. Go ahead and give it a try.

    Computer term (Incremental Backup)

Backing up only the files that have changed since your last backup, instead of backing up every single file on your computer. This saves a lot of time and floppy disks.
