Internet Explorer delayThose of you that are using Internet Explorer 7 might have noticed a slight delay when opening web pages. Microsoft has a fix for this and you can see it here support.microsoft.com/kb/928089/en-us If you haven't had any problems, this does not apply to you.
Windows Vista problemsIf any of you are having problems with Windows Vista not doing the things that it is supposed to do, you might want to check those old programs that you reinstalled on your computer from when you were using an older version of Windows. What I mean by checking them, is to search for updates. Usually when you open a program, somewhere toward the top of the screen you will see "Help" or "About". Check there for a update link, it might be that an update is needed that will allow the program to be more compatible with Windows Vista.
VHS to DVDI have a bunch of things that were recorded on VHS tape, that I would like to record onto DVD's. The tapes take a lot of room to store and to be honest I have made a few mistakes in the past and recorded over something that I wanted to keep. Problem is the software that I have looked at over the years usually runs about a $100 and I think that is a little much. Recently I was in a Fry's electronic store and saw that they had the VHS to DVD software for $49 after a rebate. So I bought it and it has worked out great, it contains everything that you need to do this type of transfer, only thing that you need is a DVD player recorder on your computer. The software that I bought is made by Honestech I am not pushing their product, there are lots of other companies that also make this type software and I don't know how long Fry's will have this sale, but if there is a Fry's in your area, you might want to check. I have already put a bunch of my VHS tapes onto DVD and plan to do lots more.

Computer term (Zip File)A zip file is basically a "package" of one or more compressed files. If you download a lot of software, you'll run across these all the time. They are not difficult to work with. You'll need an "unzipping" program in order to access them, something like Winzip is a good choice
