Forwarding Email Addresses

We love hearing from newsletter subscribers and love getting the useful information that they send. Many of you have sent tips, funny pictures, etc. Please continue to do so. However some of the emails we receive have been forwarded several times and contain numerous email addresses that have been picked up a long the way. This is not a good practice, in fact it is one of the main ways that spammers collect email addresses. You see spammers also have friends and relatives that are forwarding emails to them. Recently we received an email that had over one hundred emails listed at the top. I scanned these emails and found only one that I was familiar with. So here is a tip on how to keep from forwarding those addresses. Go ahead and click to forward the email, when the forward window comes up highlight all of the email addresses and press the Backspace key. Now your email address and the email address of the person you are forwarding to should be the only ones. Give it a try, if you have problems, let me know and I will try and help.

Cool Web Site

If you like some of the older music and dancing, here is a web site that has a little of everything. I have only looked through a portion of it, but what I saw looks good.
worriersanonymous.org I started with "Enter the House" in the upper right corner.

Inexpensive Flash Drives

Several of you have emailed about flash drives and where to get them for a good price. I noticed that there are several listed at SalesCircular.com for a real good price. In fact Circuit City has a 4gb listed for around $14. You can check for yourself here, www.salescircular.com Select the State where you live, then click on USB Storage in the first column. There are several listed there. The date on the right side tells you when the sale ends. They come out with a new list on Sunday of each week.

Allowing Automatic Updates

We receive emails wanting to know if you should allow automatic updates in Windows XP or Vista. Some say that after allowing the updates to install, they sometimes experience problems that they did not have before. Therefore they have turned off the updates. You should always allow updates, most of them are to fix security holes that might put your computer at risk. However you can take control over what updates install on your computer by changing settings. Go to your Control Panel in XP click on Automatic Updates. You can put a check mark in "Notify me but don't automatically download them." In Vista go to your Control Panel, click Check for updates, then click change settings in the left column and choose the way you would like the downloads handled.

Norton Internet Security
and Windows XP Service Pack 3

Norton is warning of possible problems when installing Windows XP SP-3. This is of course if you are using Norton on your computer. Go to this web link to learn what you should do,
