Ways to fix your own Printer
Over the years I have thrown away several printers because they started doing weird things. Truth was I had used them for a couple years, thought it was to expensive to take them to a repair shop and the price of a new printer seemed to be less or close to what the repair cost would have been. I still think that is pretty good reasoning, however if I had known that I might be able to spend $10 or $20 to fix the printers, I might have kept them and got a couple more years out of them.
When you first get an inkjet printer using the built in head cleaning feature works pretty well, but after a couple years it seems to not work so well. Even doing the wiping of the rollers and sight inspection does not seem to help. The other day I ran across a web site that offers free help on how to fix your own printer. They also sell inexpensive cleaning kits that might have saved some of the printers that I disposed of. When my present printers get to the point where I can no longer keep them going, I will certainly try this web site before I throw them away. You also might want to take a look. I am not associated with this web site, nor do I receive any compensation for referring people to them, I am just trying to offer a solution to possibly fixing your printer. www.fixyourownprinter.com
