What to look for in a computer(Continued)
After last weeks information was given in the newsletter, some of you wanted to know some numbers. These are just my opinion, but I think a good guide for buying a computer. The newer computers that have Windows Vista, require more memory and I think 2GB's is a good number. Also an 80 gb hard drive should be plenty for most users, most computers will come with more than that. I would think a 2.4ghz processor would also be good enough for the average user. Anything above these numbers is just icing on the cake. Most people are buying laptops these days and here are some things to look for. Make sure it has 802.11 technology so you can connect with the Internet using WiFi. Get one with a duo-dual core processor, centrino technology if you can. Battery life is very important, I would think at least 2 or 3 hours would be fine. Some of the other features are up to you, most software that comes with a computer is just a trial version and you would have to purchase something down the line to make it continue to work. Also keep in mind that there are is free software available on the Internet, that in a lot of cases is just about as good as anything you can buy.
