This story started in California and has continued across several states.
Three years ago my wife and I bought our first metal detector. We are now up to
three.
The first detector cost us $500 and was worth every penny.
We had no idea what to expect, we just hoped that we might find something of value.
As it has turned out, that was an under statement. Three months to the day
after we
bought the metal detector, we paid for it. Thats right, we had found $500 in coins.
We also found 50+ rings, some gold, some silver. One of the rings had six small diamonds
surrounding a beautiful sapphire. Some were wedding bands, some had stones of various kinds.
There were lots of other things, such as old coins, that we have kept. Foreign coins,I
have lost track of how many. Tokens from many parts of the United States and beyond.
We have given Chuck-e-Cheese's tokens by the hands full to our grandkids. Match box cars
and that type by the hundreds. None of what I am telling you is exaggerated, this is all the
absolute truth. We are as amazed as anyone, that we have found so much, in such a short time.
Most of the finds that I have mentioned here were found in that first three months. Sense that time
we have added lots to our collection of things.
Most all of the treasures that we have found, have been in easy to access places. There are still
lots of places to try, that we have not been to. This story is not that out of the ordinary. WE know
of other people that have done as well as we have.
I am telling you all of this to encourage you to consider this hobby, for yourself. I believe
you will not regret it. If you travel like we do, you will discover lots of places to try your detector.
