Last weekend Bobbi and I were in Anaheim, Ca. We have annual passes to Disneyland and go there often, sometimes just for lunch. While in the area, we decided to try a few of the free Wi-Fi locations that we know about. Our first stop was at a Burger King restaurant in Fullerton. We tried to connect from the parking lot and were not able to. I found out later that I had not selected the right server. We went on to CompUSA in Anaheim and were able to connect there from inside the store. There were actually three signals to choose from, so we selected the one with the strongest signal. Not far from there, also in Anaheim is Kelly's Coffee Shop. We sat out on the patio and received three signals there also, one being the CompUSA signal that we had just been connected to. From there we went to the Anaheim public library, there we connected from the parking lot, then went inside to see if we could get a stronger signal. We were surprised to see the same good signal both inside and out. We found all of these locations on the Wi-Fi free Spot web site www.wififreespot.com We use a D-Link DWL-122 USB wireless adapter, that was $29, but had a $10 rebate, making it only $19. We bought it a while back and I have seen wireless adapters sense, for as little as $10. They are easy to install and use. Once installed all you have to do is open the laptop, turn it on and the signal is detected for you. Then you just highlight the signal and tell it to connect. (Bobbi and Larry)
